About Pars Art Gallery
Our Story
Nestled in the heart of Toronto, Pars Art Gallery is a celebration of Persian artisanship — a living bridge between centuries-old craft traditions and the hands of people who appreciate beauty made with intention.
We are more than a gallery. We are storytellers, curators, and passionate advocates for the artisans whose families have passed down their skills across generations. Every piece in our collection carries a history that no factory can replicate.
Rooted in Tradition
Persian art is among the oldest and most refined in the world. At Pars Art Gallery, we carry a carefully curated selection of works that represent the full breadth of this heritage:
- Khatam Kari — The ancient art of marquetry inlay, where hundreds of tiny pieces of wood, bone, and metal are assembled by hand into intricate geometric patterns. A single square inch of khatam can contain over 250 individual pieces. The patience and precision required is extraordinary — and the result is unmistakable.
- Mina Kari — Hand-painted enamel art on copper and clay, fired at high temperatures to produce jewel-like colours that last centuries. Each mina kari piece is a miniature painting in its own right, with motifs drawn from Persian poetry, nature, and mythology.
- Termeh & Ghalamkar — Luxurious hand-woven termeh textiles and block-printed ghalamkar tablecloths, each bearing the distinctive patterns of Persian weaving traditions.
- Silver Jewelry — Handcrafted pieces set with turquoise and agate — stones long prized in Persian culture for their beauty and symbolism.
- Persian Miniature Art — Delicate paintings rendered in the classical style, depicting scenes from Persian literature and court life with extraordinary detail.
- Musical Instruments — Including the daf drum, a cornerstone of Persian classical and spiritual music.
Authentic, Not Mass-Produced
In a world flooded with machine-made imitations, authenticity matters. Every item at Pars Art Gallery is sourced directly from skilled artisans — people who have dedicated their lives to mastering a craft. We do not carry mass-produced reproductions. When you purchase from us, you are acquiring a genuine work of human skill, culture, and creativity.
We take pride in being able to tell you the story behind what you're buying: the technique used, the region it comes from, and the tradition it represents. That transparency is part of what we offer.
Visit Us in Toronto
We warmly invite you to visit Pars Art Gallery in Toronto and experience these works in person. Seeing the detail of a khatam kari box up close, or holding a mina kari plate and watching the enamel catch the light — these are moments that no photograph can fully capture.
Whether you are a collector, a gift-giver, or simply someone who loves beautiful things, we would love to welcome you.
Can't make it in person? Our full collection is available online, and we are always happy to answer questions about any piece. Contact us — we love to talk about the art.
